XP90 Launch Vehicle

After experiements with the XP88 prototype yielded an excessively large and expensive craft, scientists began searching for alternate propulsion that would be capable of driving a much smaller craft into orbit.

The result of this research is the XP90 personal launch vehicle.  Driven by a new, fusion drive system, the craft requires a much smaller engine and fuel assembly than previous launch vehicles.

The rear shot below shows the engine details.  A small amount of hydrogen is injected into a combustion chamber and then compressed and heated by force fields and lasers.  This causes the compressed hydrogen to fusion into helium releasing a massive amount of energy.  At the moment of fusion, the force field is weakened towards the rear of the craft causing the resulting explosion to be expelled as thrust from the vehicle.

Below, one can see the cockpit.
