The Big River Chapter would like to thank all who have supported the Big River
Chapter since its creation in 2005! Through two successful Big Game banquets the
chapter was able to raise over $17,000 for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's
mission: to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat. Sadly,
the chapter will be closing this year due to dwindling volunteers and
participants at our fund raising banquets.

ABOUT THE BIG
RIVER CHAPTER
The Big River Chapter was named
after the near by Big River Wildlife Management Area.
A landmark milestone was reached for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF)
with the issuance
of a chapter charter early in 2005, the Big River Chapter based in
Coventry, Rhode Island marked the last of the 50 states to have a RMEF
chapter.

RMEF MISSION
The mission of the Elk
Foundation is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and their
habitat.
In support of this
mission the Elk Foundation is committed to:

enhancing natural habitats;
- Promoting the sound management
of wild, free-ranging elk, which may be hunted or otherwise
enjoyed;
- Fostering cooperation among
federal, state and private organizations and individuals in

- Educating members and the public
about habitat conservation, the value of hunting, hunting ethics
and wildlife management.
