For those of you who beleived any of that other than the first paragraph, shame on you! You should all know that the constitutuion protects against just those types of injustices by guaranteeing due process of law for any 'capital, or otherwise infamous crime' in amendment 5.

The point I was trying to make with that whole rant is that there is a solution out there, but we are going to have to do better to work with each other to come to a resolution. But first, we are going to have to do more to enforce the existing laws on the books because, for the most part, they are good laws. Problem is that they're not enforced the way they should be, and despite what Chuck and Dianne would have you beleive, more legislation is not the way to go.

One final point is that until it is changed, no matter how much you don't like it, the second amendment is still a part of the Bill of Rights, so how about you buckle down and accept it? You anti's don't have any problems exercising your first amendment rights when you are all up on the capital steps protesting whatever (the million mom march comes to mind) but in the same breath are trying to deny the second amendment exists. Guess what kids? The Bill of Rights is not an a la carte menu where you can pick and choose which ones you think are good just because you are afraid of the guns. And let's not be foolish about it: if you are for banning guns, then you are afraid of guns even if it is on a subconscious level.
