El Zaribah Director's Staff

Words of Wisdom

The latest newsletter

Thank you all for coming to January 23rd, 2008 meeting. Many familiar faces and some new faces, were at dinner and at the meeting. It was great seeing all of you.

This newsletter will be available in many different formats, courtesy of Executive Advisor Bud Neely. This newsletter will be posted at www.directorstaff.com, emailed to those on Bud’s email list, as well as snail mailed to those who prefer that method.  Contact Bud if you prefer one method or the other.

Some old issues arose, and were solved, including the pending change to the by-laws regarding associate members. The original request was withdrawn, so the changes will not be implemented. The issue was raised, however, to create a committee to review the bylaws and overhaul the entire by-laws if needed.  The executive members will confer regarding this issue.

Name Tags, Name Tags.

If you or your lady needs a name tag, get the information to me ASAP. I will be ordering new name tags by Friday, February 15th. If you have a name tag, please wear it to the dinner and to the meetings. There are many new faces floating around, and not everyone knows everyone else’s names (including me.) Help me out…wear your name tag!

Logo and T-Shirts are coming!

I’ve created a modified logo of the mighty red coverall for 2008. His uniform was tweaked, and additional items have been added.  A limited number of polo shirts will be ordered (pocket free) with the logo. If you want to make sure you get yours for 2008, let me know your size by February 15th. Shirts will be ordered and sold on a first come, first served basis, unless you pre order.

The Tales newsletter will be published by our 2nd Vice, Tom Callendar. It was brought up in the meeting to add a photo here and there, and I couldn’t agree more. If anyone has a photo that they think would be appropriate to publish in the tales, forward this and any other information to Tom prior to the cutoff date for the following month.

Past President Picnic in Payson – stay tuned for dates and details (summertime)!

Pote’s Concerns –

Illustrious Sir Dave Polner addressed his concerns at our meeting. He wanted to see the Director Staff get more involved with ceremonials and other Shrine activities – and I concur. I will adjust my work schedule to be more available this year, but it will take more than me. We need committed people to help this year. Dave mentioned that they not all need to come from Directors Staff – perhaps a joint effort from other units would help. If you know of any brothers in other units that are able and willing to help us and the Pote out, get them involved. I will take good care of everyone who comes out to help.

If you would like a nametag or shirt preorder, please email me at GreenGT@aol.com. You can also email me or any other member of my staff any of your concerns.

Until next month – stay safe and keep your head down.
