Slot car kit, or model "bashing" is one of my hobbies.
Just driving a RTR is fun, but when you customize, or modify a car to your liking it really makes you enjoy that car much more.

This chassis is an old scrap unit that I decided to make a beater car for the kids with. Motor has to be held in w/ goop because clips are cracked. The beatup mustang body was stripped in Castrol superclean, cracks repaired then sprayed numbered and clear coated. It looks great for a beater made from mostly scrap parts. Though the chassis did have to be glued to the body.

Since it's for the kids I wanted to try the slot-it wooden guide (Number: SICH07) to help them w/ deslots. It fits in nice, the screw when turned down holds it in nice and there is no slop.
A nice thing is it eliminated the scalex guide pickup prongs so electrical energy is constant. One tip, round off the front squared edge so it cannot catch on any track seams. Here is a picture of a slot-it HRS chassis. The tires are all scalex T/A tires and work very nice on this chassis.
