SNOW!
[We got 5-8 inches, the biggest snowfall since 1979 (only 3 inches)]

Yucca in the Snow

Record Breaking Snow 12/18/2008

A very wet and heavy snowfall started around lunchtime PST and continued till about midnight. I left work about 3:30 PM which is my usual time since I'm there from about 6:00AM. I found out the next day that they had closed our facility at 4:00PM. This was a great source of amusement for us at work, because we're alway recieving notices on our intranet about our Seattle, or Dallas or Chicago branch closing due to inclement weather, but never us.

Fortunately I had left my new trees staked, especilally the new African Sumac in the front yard, or I would have lost them. The snow was almost slush but it stuck to everything and all the branches were weighed down heavily. They've all recovered pretty well, though.

Click on the titles (not the pictures) to link to a larger image, though these are only 640 x 480. That's smaller than I like to shoot things, but it's better for the web.
