A native of Pensacola, Florida, Artist Bill Hinton has been drawing and painting since the he was 12. He had his first one man show at the age of 21 and has had his work shown throughout the Southeast United States. While in college Bill helped found the local artists association Pensacola Artist's Inc with a group of six other Pensacola Artists and was appointed to the Pensacola Arts Council as their representative. Working with the Arts Council he was the first Director of the Councils Festival Fever Days which is now the very successful Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival. It was during this time that Bill also took a job with the fledgling WSRE-TV as a Graphic Artist. Here he went on to become the Art and Computer Graphics Director and established a 25 year long career with the Public Broadcasting System until retiring in 1999. Bill has had One Man Shows at the Mobile (Alabama) Municipal Art Gallery, VZ Top Gallery and Little Seville Gallery. He has also been in group shows at the Percy Whiting Gallery of Fairhope Alabama and National Wildlife Art Show in New Bern North Carolina. He has also won Best in Show, Artist's Choice, Best in Media, 1st in Watercolor and ADDY awards for his work.

Having grown up in a very eclectic environment Bill developed a very wide interest when it comes to subjects for his art. Whether the beauty of a vast mountain range, the detail in a butterfly's wing or the curve of a fast car's fender Bill's goal as an artist has always been to capture and interpet through his art those things he finds interesting and beautiful in this life.

"My philosophy is that there really is no tangible definition as to what represents Fine Art. There are those who foster the notion that art must be innovative or counter cultural to be of true consequence. I believe all art is of consequence no matter if it's a kid's drawing of a dragon or a $2,000,000 Jackson Pollack. A great work of art has a tangible quality to it that can be experienced on many levels by anyone and should never be dictated by any person or group as to its validity. To do so is to remove the very essence of human creativity." In this vane I strive to not be pigeon holed into any one genre or subject matter."
