The first thing you need is transportation. Earlier explorers used mules and horses--I use a RAV4. Don't have to feed a RAV4. Also you don't have to clean up after it, or take it to a vet. On the other hand, in an emergency you can't eat a RAV4.

This picture was taken on my first trip with it. I didn't get stuck, run out of gas, overheat, or fall into a canyon. Nothing exciting.

This is Wildboar Jr. taking aim at one of those pesky soda cans. We were at an old, abandoned train siding about 10 miles from the highway. This place is called Dos Cabezas. That probably means something in some language. The trains stopped running thru here many years ago. The track was washed away by that same water problem mentioned above.
