Build Day One

Ian arrived on site Tuesday to get the shop together. He collected tools and the two donor vehicles. The legends racer was a runner with a full tank of gas so he just had to take a couple test laps.

Phoenix came in Tuesday afternoon to this incredible view from his room at the Hilton.

The "Outlaw Builders" get together on site for a quick planning session.

Here's the donor legends car. It's a real screamer.

Here's Harriet. She was our Host from the track and a really great lady. She made our time there awesome!

Harriet didn't mind that they were driving the legends car around. However, track security wasn't to thrilled.

After the "test runs" were done the builders had to wait until Wednesday to actually start building. First order of business was to strip the donor vehicles down to base parts.

The legends racer was stripped to the chassis and drive train. All the wiring and linkages were removed and the body was parted out for possible later use. At this point the outlaws made a huge pile of parts and by the end of the day there wasn't much that was recognizable as a vehicle left in the shop area.

There's not much more to see except a pile of parts so let's move on to day two!
