Lowes Motor Speedway From April 6th to the 10th, builders Ian Roussel from California
and Phoenix Blaze from Las Vegas, Nv. took a Legends race car and a
Club Car golf cart and merged them into a Hot Rod golf cart capable
of speeds of over 100 mph! Television personalities Big Schwag and Body Drop were on site to keep the builders going and keep the crowded build zone running. Both builders are veteran Monster House and Monster Garage winners respectively and returned for the "best of the best" episode Monsterize Everything, where they met and decided they liked working together. The brainchild that developed is the "Extreme Toy Challenge." and together they are called the Outlaw Builders. In just five days Ian and Phoenix fabricated an exciting and radical "Extreme toy" from parts and recycled bits by dissecting an old Legends racer and a retired golf cart and then putting it all back together in it's new form. All work was done live in front of the audience during the shows open hours from 8 to 6 each day. No parts were added after hours or extra pieces bought in the middle of the night. Most extra parts needed were scrounged from the racetrack bone yard and shop. Digging through drawers and piles they scrounged bolts from tin cans and pipe from wrecked race cars. They spent well under $100.00 on things like diamond plate and rivets. The rest was either from the donor vehicles or donated by sponsors in the case of the 20" rims and tires. The people were packed 4 deep, completely around the shop the entire time and the response we received was tremendous. We are looking forward to many more live builds in the future. Next time we may come to your local track! The links to the left will take you to pictures from each day of the build. Enjoy! For Booking and Sponsorship info. contact.
