Why Train?
Dogs are not born knowing how to behave in their human family --- they have to be taught.
Training improves your relationship with your dog.
It puts you in control.
It reduces stress.
It provides mental stimulation for your dog.
It sets limits for your dog, so he knows what to expect.
It gives your dog meaningful work (the will to serve.)
It can prevent objectionable behaviors
by providing structured routine and preventing boredom.

Why Train Using Positive Reinforcement?
It's easy to learn and do.
It is transferable to other family members.
It identifies exactly what the dog is doing right (and wrong.)
Positively trained dogs are more reliable and willing than fear motivated dogs.
The dog learns to 'think' and experiment with new behaviors.
It works on dogs of any breed, any size, and any age.
The trainer does not need physical strength to use this method, because there is no force.
TRAIN! DON'T COMPLAIN!
