Burrillville Trolley

In 1900 Italian immigrant laborers provided the man power to build the trolley line in Burrillville.  Here we see them working with pick and shovel on Douglas Pike in Nasonville.

While working on the trolley, Italian immigrant laborers lived in these mud huts in Glendale near what is now the Saint Louis Chapel on Victory Highway.  Notice the flag of the Republic of Italy on this worker's hut.

The trolley was completed in 1902 and traveled from Woonsocket to Bridgeton.
