This Webquest was designed for sixth graders as an interdisciplinary project for Math and Social Studies. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the Ancient Civilizations unit of study.
It can also be used for fifth, seventh, or eighth grade with little altering. For example, to correlate with fifth grade standards, you might have students research explorers that may have contributed to the Mathematics field.
This Webquest can also be adapted into the GATE classroom by conducting a Socratic Seminar at the end of the project or by having students write math problems related to their mathematician.
