God has chosen the sweetest of his children to be with him, we all now have a beautiful little angel in heaven where he will glorify God and enjoy Him forever. |
Nicolas Patrick Graf, known as Nickel Pickle, Nicky Ricky, and Nico, was a gift from heaven to Paul, Ann, and Michael Graf on December 17, 1995. On April 17, 1997 he was joined by his little brother Alexander.
For 22 months he blessed the lives around him. His smile could light up any room and any heart. His eyes were full of wonder, adventure, and mischief. He possessed a sense of innocence and a love of life.
His favorite things in this world were his BaBa, balls, bubble baths with Michael, swinging, ball caps, and any type of tractor. He especially loved corn dogs, cheese, and pop. Nicolas could barely talk, but this little guy never needed words. He never passes by a truck or any type of construction vehicle without saying "WHOA!" Nicolas was never too far from his Birkenstocks, he thought that if he had his Birks on he could go bye-bye. Even at the hospital Friday, his Birks never came off.
In the hospital Nicolas thought if he would blow a goodbye kiss to the doctors and nurses then they would leave him alone. Although his hospital stay was brief, he quickly found the short path to the Cheeto and pop machine.
Recently Nicolas had formed a special
bond with his Grandpa Wayne, they both had cancer. Nicolas had developed
a very rare form of cancer called Wilms’ tumor. Over the past couple of
months Nicolas was not himself; he had been sick and Ann quickly made plans
for Nicolas to see a specialist. She was adamant about Nicolas getting
the best care possible. Thursday, October 9, 1997, Ann and Paul were told
that Nicolas had a tumor, he was admitted on Friday and was scheduled for
surgery early Saturday. During surgery God decided it was time for Nicolas
to join him, and that morning when Nicolas was called he said "WHOA!" God
has chosen the sweetest of his children to be with him, we all now have
a beautiful little angel in heaven where he will glorify God and enjoy
Him forever.
What will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?
No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
nor any other creature will be able to seperate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39
