The Bocce Ball players have been enjoying many good days of competition since the rain does not hamper the playing. Last year many days were lost because of rain on the old courts.
Attendance has improved lately and everyone is continuing to enjoy the new courts. Some preliminary discussions are going on regarding potential fund raisers for the coming months.
A fence surrounding the new courts would protect them from vandalism and prohibit trash items from entering the playing area.
Also being discussed are scheduling of local tournaments with other bocce ball clubs in the valley. This is always a fun time leading to bragging rights for the coming year.
On January 8, 2002 a tournament was held in conjunction with the 40th Dreamland Anniversary week long celebration. Those participating were Pat and Al Sagstetter, Mary and Marv Naedler, Lavier and Don Johnson, Dan Eberle, Jim Kaufer, Eleanor Ness, Clayton Hart, Bill Kline, Jane and Jerry Shelly, Muriel and Ernie Fitch, and Esther Klundt. The winners were Mary and Marv Naedler and Clayton Hart and Esther Klundt. The winners will be honored on Saturday nite Jan 12, 2002 at the Dreamland banquet.
