Ya! There is a club for people who have a connection to Minnesota and Dreamland Villa Community Club. It's name is the Minnesota Club.
The Club was started in the fall of 2000 under the leadership of Don Johnson from Duluth. The last meeting of the winter season will be held at 5 p.m. April 17, at Farnsworth Hall. It will be a Minnesota Potluck followed by a speaker from Rural Metro. Why does anyone need Rural Metro? What are the consequences if you don't belong? You will know after the meeting.
Meetings this winter season have included the introductory potluck, a visit to Organ Stop Pizza where besides a noon buffet the workings of the pipe organ were demonstrated and explained. Also we were entertained with a talk by the head coordinator of the Mesa Senior Services, a Christmas party with members bringing food for the local church food banks, and a style show by the Lutheran Thrift Shop with members of the club modeling.
In May the summer season starts with Dave and Sharon Anfinson, Lake Crystal, coordinators. They and their committee are planning events such as a pizza party at Farnsworth Pool and a back yard picnic.
Also the winter visitors who travel back to Minnesota for the summer are planning a large potluck 12 noon get together at Muriel and Ernie Fitch's place in Lino Lakes, MN on Aug 14, 2001.
