Ted at Mission Beach. This is Ted.  Ted belongs to Sandy & I, and he is the closest we have to a child.  :)  Ted is a Shih Tzu, and as far as we know a purebred (though it doesn't really matter to us).  We don't keep his fur cut in the traditional manner, but rather keep it trimmed very short in what's usually called a "puppy cut."

Ted was born on July 21st, 2000 - which happened to be Sandy's Birthday so we always remember his b-day.  Ted's parents were Eddie and Gracie which were my parents' dogs.  My Mom & Dad no longer have Eddie, but Gracie is still with them.  Gracie and Ted are great friends and often play together.

He is a great dog.  Super friendly, loving, and smart.  He has a pretty good vocabulary and he's even learned a few tricks.  Here are his words:

Bang! Go for Walk Go See Momma Off Speak
Bath Go for Ride Gracie Quiet Stand
Come Go Gettit Heel Rollover Stay
Daddy Go Lay Down Kiss Sandy Ted
Down Go Ni'nite Momma Shake Treat
Dry Go Poopoo No Shower Up
Go Dogpark Go Potty No Kisses Sit

He's best at bang, down, rollover, sit, speak, and especially at stay.  He's least trained on heel and stand, though I'm still working on him.  I trained him mostly by myself and Sandy has helped reinforce the obedience.  He's potty trained, rides fine in cars, plays well with other dogs and usually ignores kids.  Ted really is the best dog ever (but then, aren't they all!?  Heh!)!!!

Ted napping in the sun. Ted is fed a 2:1 ratio mix of Pedigree Complete Nutrition and Iams MiniChunks.  He is well treated and groomed by the people at Animal Medical Center of East County.

Sandy has set up a website for Ted here.
