Passing time on the long flight home
For us, cruising is luxury living at a low price. It appeals chiefly to overeaters, social butterflies, the physically handicapped, and many elders. Hair color is nearly all gray. There are some ships which cater to fun loving youths or the sexually diverse, but we haven't tried these latter vessels. Certainly the Celebrity Cruise Lines "Constellation" is not in that more relaxed group.
On this trip our favorite stop was Madeira Island. This favorite vacation spot for many English is thoroughly continental and well developed with much to see and do.
Le Havre, France turned out to be much more attractive than one might expect of a 'grimy' port city.
London, at the end, was everything one can wish for in a vacation destination but in May 2003 was very overpriced. We spent one night, mostly to see "The Phantom of the Opera".
