Howell’s Opal Shoppe has been in business in San Diego County since 1971.

Robert Howell has always believed in offering good high quality jewelry to people at a reasonable price, without all the markup seen in many big stores - which can be 3 times, or more, over the actual cost of the ring.

Much of this markup is needed to cover those nice fancy stores that you go into and keeping a large stock of rings, stones, and other supplies on hand.

Until now, more than 90% of our business has been custom jewelry. Due to some suggestions from his son, we are now offering the same savings, usually for our walk-in customers, to those on eBay.

We have set a Reserve Price. We are doing this because we are new to selling on eBay and wish to cover our expenses, at a minimum, since we could not stay in business otherwise. As an incentive, in these early stages on eBay we are offering rings at an initial $0 profit (the reserve price). Our decision to do this led to a small cut in our regular price, and is a further savings for you.

Any estimated price given is based on similar rings seen locally in stores in San Diego County. This estimate should be a good reprehensive of what you could possibly see walking into a popular jewelry store, but not a guarantee – as any store can charge any amount over cost that their customers will pay.

If you Email us, we can discuss selling you the same ring with different stones at our usual low prices.

RESIZING:

We can resize the ring for $$$, and will delay the shipment by 3 work days.
If you do not know your size, please check out our website for suggestions on resizing or determining your size. You can always take your ring to a trusted local jeweler.

SHIPPING and payment options:

We ship all items no later than the day after we have confirmation from Paypal that you have paid.  If you wish to pay by check, your ring will not ship until the check has fully cleared (typically 5-10 work days after deposit).  Once the check has cleared you will be Emailed that your check has cleared and that your package has been shipped.

You will be Emailed when the package has been shipped, and we will include a tracking number if one is available (not sure on USPS).

Our preferred shipper is UPS/FedEx, but we can ship via USPS on request. The stated flat shipping fee is for in the continental US, and includes the insurance and tracking to cover the item. We have chosen to do this to make sure your items gets to you safely.  Being new to eBay, we are setting a flat continental US shipping fee until we can get the actual shipping fee to come up automatically for each order.  We send all UPS/FedEx orders 3-day, and the fastest USPS possible for the shipping amount.  At best, we will only make a couple dollars on the shipping, depending on your location.  At worst, we will loose a couple dollars.

For faster shipping, or shipments outside the continental US, please email us for additional costs at closing.  Prior to closing, we can give you an estimate, but actual price will be sent after closing.  You can also get a quote directly from the shipper sites using our zip code of 91901.

*in case you were wondering, USPS is more difficult for us to ship from, but I understand that it may be the best option for the bidder.
