Hiking and Camping 2002
Home Page

Michael, my youngest son, lives in San Francisco where he is employed as an investigator for the U S Dept of Labor.  His favorite pastime is Hiking and Camping.  On his invitation I joined him July 8-19, 2002 for a camping and hiking vacation in Northern California and Southern Oregon.  We spent several days in four major National parks and Monuments--Lassen Volcanic National Park, The Lava Beds National Monument, Crater Lake and the Redwood National Park.  If you are interested in viewing almost 300 photos of this trip, they are available at OFOTO.  Email me at bobzehr@cox.net for directions to access them

Nature's lesson in relationships.  This stump has healed over and continues to live by the life support it gets from a neighboring tree

Our first tent site.  Temperatures soared to almost 100 during the day.  Fortunately nights were near 50  and really comfortable for sleeping

Michael filtered water from Lower Twin Lake for our drinking supply

All tuckered out.  The rigorous hikes make camp a relaxing time
