LoVecchio and Holiday

I thought it might be interesting to look at where Holliday and LoVecchio stand on their relative career numbers at this point.

LoVecchio comes out ahead on every important statistic, except for the rushing statistics. Even there, he's not too bad, and in the regular season of his freshman year he averaged 4.3 yards per carry, essentially identical to Holliday's this year. LoVecchio is a much more accurate and effective passer, something likely to become much more important in N.D.'s offense.

I think it likely that LoVecchio will be the starter at the beginning of next year and that Holiday will be moved to flanker or safety, where he could be extremely effective.

Addendum:  As it turns out, this clearly will not be the case as LoVecchio has announced that he's transferring.  Moreover, it appears from most reports that Holiday is doing a better job picking up the offense than I had imagined.
