CIRCUS MAXIMUS to Begin!

We begin our next CIRCUS MAXIMUS next time. At present we have five players signed up, so hereÕs the plan. Each player should send in prep points, color preference, and driver names (try to keep them to one or two words, so Notasulga, Marcia Victoria, or Smokey Bear are OK, but Marcellus Germanicus Claudius Strabo wouldnÕt be) for two chariots, designating one as their primary. If we end up with 4-6 players, each player will run both chariots. If we end up with seven or more players, each will only run their primary.

"Gawain" and maybe "King of Pain" should end next issue opening two pages for new games. Leading candidates are WIZARD'S QUEST, PUERTO RICO, RAIL BARON and MERCHANT OF VENUS. Sign up soonest and bring a friend.

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS:
BLACKBEARD: Position #1 is available [Tew (2nd Pirate), no KCs)
CIRCUS MAXIMUS: See above.

BORIS'S BULLETIN BOARD

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH: "Plans are nothing. Planning is everything." -- Dwight Eisenhower

PICTURE OF THE MONTH: The CIRCUS MAXIMUS demolition derby track. Each normal lane is now 3-wide (so an inside move donÕt cost extra MP unless you cross the former lane boundary). IÕm the second torso from the top right. I took a 1-driver, 1-speed, heavy (at WBC a majority of the players are there to kill, so best take a heavy, and, by implication, join the Heavy Union, whoÕs first rule is ÒThou shalt not attack a fellow Heavy until all Lights and Mediums are wasted.Ó) The race went 1.5 laps, we had 22 entrants. My strategy was basically to hang back behind the mob, let them kill each other off, then make a surge around Turn 5 to pass the cripples and streak unharmed to victory. Unfortunately, when I began to make my move near the end of Lap 1, I was attacked by another Heavy (my net 11 evasion was trumped by his net 12, then his damage roll killed my #1 Pegasus (donÕt ask, be there), then I failed two or three Pegasus cutting atempts (it was 0400 Saturday who keeps count?) and the race was over.

NEW ON THE WEBSITE: SILVERTON has been moved to the finished folder under transcripts. Fixed two typos in the ÒMedieval MACHIAVELLIÓ file. Added links to some GUNSLINGER variant boards and scenarios.
