Asteroid Eros
|
The
first-discovered near-Earth asteroid (NEA) and the second-largest.
Eros is one of the most elongated asteroids, with a
potato-shaped body. |
|
|
The
gravity on Eros is very weak and temperatures are very extreme.
There are many strange features of Eros which scientists wonder
about.
In October 2000 when the Near-Shoemaker spacecraft touched
down on the asteroid,
It was the first time a probe had landed on an asteroid.
In Its close scrutiny of Eros
many strange features were revealed...
Such as flat-bottomed craters filled with a peculiar bluish
dust, and a puzzling lack of small craters. |

|
There
are two strange area's in this image which deserve a closer
look.
One is bottom center and the other is on the right side.
Below we zoom in further to see what's there. |
|
|
 |
On
the left we have another
grid-like face on an object..
and on the right a pyramid-shaped object that comes to a
point. |
|
There are a ton of rather pointy
and jagged features on the surface.
Perhaps this Asteroid broke off of a much larger planet
which inhabited life-forms.
structures would still be intact,
in some shape or form.
