Magelhaens Crater

During
Apollo 8's orbit around the moon the astronauts took several
pictures of the area animated below.
Below is a rare animated representation of what the Astronauts
actually saw and how they saw it. |

Upon futher examination perhaps we can
see why they were interested in this area.
When we look close at one of the frames used in the animation
above we see an anomoly. |

|
The crater to the center and left with the object sitting
up straight with a grid-like face is what's of interest.
Some have said the center object is a result of a central
peak.. and a central depression.

Above you can clearly see a raised structure
with a grid-like face.
Almost like what you could see in a sci-fi movie where aircraft
enter in and out of each dark entrance.
