In this section, will be profiles of prizefighters whose careers ended early in tragedy. Youthful athletes and young superstars, lost to us in the beginnings or prime of their careers - never to know what may have been.
I’m sure you can come up with a list of hundreds, but the three who first stand out in my mind are: Stanley Ketchel, Les Darcy and Salvador Sanchez.
I hope you find these profiles interesting and informative. In doing my research, I have tried to incorporate interesting tidbits of information that are rarely found on other sites, if at all - usually of a personal nature. Some of the prizefighters have very little information available about them, so it will take more time to expand their profiles.
If you have any prizefighters who you would like to see profiled here, please e-mail me and I’ll see what I can come with. I have photos and/or information of various types on over 5,000 fighters in my collection, with this number increasing over time.
