Peace Walk - May 2006
Host: Cleveland Shambhala
Cleveland Shambhala welcomed BPF Cleveland members to their meditation space in Cleveland's Mid-Town neighborhood near Downtown. Around 30 people joined us on a beautiful spring Sunday.
Fred Schweig, Cleveland Shambhala's coordinator, led the group on a silent trek through this mostly industrial/commercial neighborhood.
We headed down E. 38th St. towards the Shoreway that runs along Lake Erie.
We hiked to a small park lost between the railroad tracks and the Shoreway. There, among the flowering trees and the dandelions we paused for a mindful exercise on space and awareness.
On our way back, we passed dozens of fragrant wild crabapple trees, resplendent in the sunshine. Who would suspect such unshackled beauty exists lost between the Shoreway and the railroad tracks?
