Millions of people worldwide have disABILITIES. For many of these people, computers are vital, for creating a barrier free world. If disABILITIES are considered when designing web documents, tremendous benefits can be provided for everyone.

When I speak of disabilities I'm talking about a very large number of people. From old age and poor eye sight to Color blindness. Deaf people can not hear sounds. Blind people have to use readers so coding is a must. Some other groups are those with Cataracts, Glaucoma, dyslexia and many more. The list goes on and on. The bottom line is how many people do you want to be able to view your site?

Every link opens in the same window as opening new windows can cause problems to some people with certain browsers and disabilities.

I am also a founding member of a group of people called "Webmates" . Each member pledges to help not less than six people during a calendar year as evidence of our belief that knowledge sharing and empowerment of the individual will widen our circle and improve the quality of the world wide web as a natural process.
