Add this page to your Favorites!

All PTA work is done by VOLUNTEERS! We need YOU to do a part. Most of you already help at the local level. Education today is at the top of every politician's list, and PTA is right in there with them. Make a difference, start small if that's all you can manage. Expand your horizon to District, State, or even NATIONAL Level!

Apply to be a National PTA Volunteer Trainer

National PTA's training team travels around the nation and delivers workshop sessions to PTA leaders. These sessions focus on issues that keep PTAs informed and thriving. In turn, these leaders transfer the skills and knowledge they learn to their state and local PTAs, strengthening connections across the organization. Building Successful Partnerships and the National PTA Leadership Conferences are two examples of training programs led by our National PTA training team.

If you have the ability and commitment to help others act on PTA's Mission, the National PTA training team may be an exciting and rewarding endeavor for you! All PTA members in good standing are welcome
and encouraged to apply.

For an application or more information, get the login information from the back of your current PTA membership card and visit the National PTA website at http://www.pta.org/members/training/trainer.asp or contact the National PTA training department at (800) 307-4PTA (4782)

Louisiana Trivia Question: What is a fais dodo?

Answer.
Welcome to South Louisiana! A fais dodo is a Cajun dancing party, usually a street party. Fais dodo literally means "make sleep." The name for the party derives from the fact that children were traditionally brought to the party and placed in a room where they could sleep while their parents danced into the night. The street dance is a fun custom that has endured.

The National PTA is NOT in favor of school vouchers:

National PTA opposes publicly funded vouchers because they divert tax dollars to private schools that are not accountable to the public, do not expand parents' educational options, have not been proven to raise student achievement, and do nothing to improve public education.
