Final Fantasy IV is probably the best DS game ever. The game has some
flaws that we will talk about soon. First off, every single thing in
the game is re-made, from graphics to script and even the battle system
and (gasp) voice overs. You can turn them off but if you do you're
missing out on some really good voice acting. A new thing that can be a
flaw or a plus is it's difficulty. It is from the original Japanese
version. Bosses can go from an easy fight to a mind blowing
frustration. But if you do get stuck you can level grind, and to make
less painful there is an Auto-Battle feature which allows you to watch
the fight instead of giving commands yourself. As long as you don't run
away and battle normally you shouldn't have to grind that often-unlike
Final Fantasy 3 on the DS. A helpful feature that was left out of Final
Fantasy 3 DS is save points. A new customizable thing is the Augment
System, this allows you to give abilities to other party members, for
example: a counter ability that lets you counter when attacked. Another
new feature is the Whyt summon, it is like a custom summon. You can
draw a new face for it, train it through a series of mini games, you
can battle it wirelessly with another person, but there is no single
card multiplayer or Wi-Fi, it is not big deal but it was included with
Final Fantasy 3 so it is a little surprising it is not here. A big draw
back is that some bosses are a little bit cheap at times, and that is
why some people say it is challenging. I recommend it, even with its
flaws, it is a great addition to any DS owner's library.-Sam
