Charles Richard Brokaw

Charles R. Brokaw was born to Isaac A. and Gertrude Brokaw, on a farm near Bound Brook, Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey, on August 28, 1850. He farmed the 59 acres inherited from his father, died December 3, 1905, and was buried in the cemetery of the Presbyterian Church of Bound Brook, NJ. Charles married Lurena Runyon on December 10, 1873. Lurena, born on September 12, 1850, lived until July 3, 1921.

Lurena R. Brokaw, born June 3, 1875, married Captain Weston Walls, and had a daughter, Elsie, who married McKendree Langley and lived in Collingswood, NJ.
Isaac Henry Brokaw was born on the farm near Bound Brook, Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey, on October 29, 1876. He left New Jersey in 1908 and went to Iowa, where he married Nellie D. Dayhoff, on June 8, 1910. Nellie, born August 25, 1879, in Maberly, MO, was the daughter of John and Martha (Kendall) Dayhoff. Isaac and Nellie lived in Pocohontas, Iowa, and their children were born there. Nellie died Jan. 16, 1958, at the home of her daughter, Elinor, in San Luis Opisbo, CA.

- Virginia Brokaw, born April 22, 1911, married Robert Smith Hursh, and lived in Fort Amador, the Canal Zone.
- Elinor Brokaw was born May 1, 1913, married David McMurray Grant. They had two daughters, Grace Elinor and Virginia Ruth
- Gertrude Brokaw was born June 20, 1917, and married Robert W. McClay, of Pocohontas, Iowa.
Richard Brokaw was born November 16, 1878 and never married.
Gertrude Brokaw was born December 6, 1883, and married Charles W. Bowman, of South Branch, NJ, and had a son, James Bowman.
C. Edminster Brokaw was born March 29, 1886. Married twice, with one daughter.
