In November 2001, the First Annual Shayna Heisman Simkin Award was presented to the Best In Show recipient, Michael McGurk, for his work entitled, "#14".

    The Art League, located in Alexandria, Virginia, has established The Shayna Heisman Simkin Award Program.  A cash award is to be given to the artist for "Best in Show" selected in a juried show.  The award will be made annually in September.
