On September 8, 2002, the Second Annual Shayna Heisman Simkin Award was presented to the Best In Show recipient, Bethanne K. Cople, for her work in oil, "Piedmont Farm".

    The Art League, located in Alexandria, Virginia, has established The Shayna Heisman Simkin Award Program.  A cash award is to be given to the artist for "Best in Show" selected in a juried show.  The first award was presented in November 2001 for the Black & White Show.  The award will be made annually in September.
