Statement

   Over the years, Shayna Heisman Simkin fulfilled her dream of becoming a professional artist.  She earned her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Philadelphia Museum College of Art (now known as The University of the Arts) and a Master's degree in Fine Arts from George Washington University.  She also studied art abroad in Europe.

    As a member of The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, for more than 22 years, she exhibited her art in monthly juried shows and was recognized by several awards.  Her work was exhibited in One-Person shows as well as group shows in the Washington D.C. area.  Her work may be found in private collections in the United States and Europe.  She painted in both representational and abstract styles.

    The Miami Museum of Modern Art is where her work "St. Patrick's Day Parade" was selected for exibition in 1962.  See Oils for the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
