At the MAY meeting we:
Can not get permission to fly at the south sod farm this year.
Voted to fly at Western Flyers Mead site.
Set date of next Linoma for June14th at Mead (waiting for date ok from L.A.S.S and Western Flyers)
Set date of midsummer contest for July 12th at Mead. (waiting for date ok from Western Flyers)
At the July meeting we:
We summarized from the June meeting what we should do when flying at mead.
Run launch line down the east side of the runway (Western Flyer rule)
Always talk to the power flyers to explain any hazards, such as the launch line falling on the runway.\
Make use of the frequency board.
Also it is good to check the schedule at WF web site to see if any events are on for the day.
If there is any frequency conflict, keep flights at 10 minutes or less. (usually this is easy)
Wednesday evening flying at Chalco will start on July 8th.
I is important that WE ALL JOIN WESTERN FLYERS. We are using their field let's help pay for it.
Our search for our own field has hit a dead end. Where else can we look.
Turner heard that the WF could lose Springfield after this year. If they fly only at Mead this will mean there will
be too much high speed traffic for us and it will be more difficult to hold events. We need to find our own spot.
At the August we:
Rescheduled the midsummer contest for August 30
Heard the next Linoma is by Lincoln on August 16o
Heard of a new possible field for next year.
We were reminded that all members who fly at Mead (sport or events) must join Western Flyers.
SEPTEMBER MEETING WE:
Mostly discussed possible permanent flying sites.
Set the date for the closer at Sept 27th (later changed to the 26th)
November MEETING WE:
Discussed possible permanent flying sites.
Nominated Terry Lamm for president, Bob Turner for Vice-president and Dan Lorimer for Sec/Treasurer.
