Course:
This course is a study of algebra, analytic geometry, trigonometry and limits. Students will use graphing calculators to explore properties, to find regression equations and solve non routine problems. Upon successful completion of this course students will be prepared for calculus.

These goals will be achieved through a variety of classroom activities, notebooks, homework, and assessment.
Supplies:
Three ringed binder, paper, graph paper, ruler, pencils and a graphing calculator (TI-84 Plus) or (TI-84 Silver Edition).
Homework:
Students will have approximately 3-5 hours of homework per week. These assignments will be related to the topics discussed in class and will be expected to be completed before the next class meeting. Homework is due when asked for. Late homework, due to excused absence, must be turned in within a day after the date of return.
Notebook:
Even though the students will have a traditional textbook to refer to, it is extremely important that they keep an organized notebook. The notebook will contain the following student recorded lists:
Evaluation/ Scholarship:
Grades will be determined by assessments, homework, cooperative group work, open ended assessments, projects in the following manner:
75-80% Tests, quizzes and semester exam20-25% Homework, Classwork
Tests/ Quizzes:
All graded Quizzes will be sent home for parental review and signature. Students will not receive extra credit points for test corrections lacking a parent signature. Extra Credit points will be offered at the discretion of the teacher.

Attendance:
The mathematics staff of Scripps Ranch High School believes that an absence from class for whatever reason can only have a harmful effect on a student's progress and grades. Furthermore, the staff believes that punctuality is a trait worthy of development in every student for good citizenship. Therefore, scholarship and citizenship grades will be lowered and detention assigned as a result of accumulated truancies and/ or tardies.
Assistance:
I will try to be available twice a week for after school tutoring in room 750 from 2:10 to 3:00.

Final Exam Dates:
- Fall Semester (Thurs, Fri.; Jan 29 & 30th)
- Spring Semester (Thur through Mon; June 11 through June 15)
Parent Connect:
Grades can be found using theSRHS Webpage
linking you to Parent Connect. Accessing the online grades will require the studentŐs district ID number and a password issued by the school site technician. You will need to save the password in a safe place. If you already have a district password from either another school and/ or another child you will use the established password and the studentŐs ID number. Establishing a replacement for a lost password must be done manually by our site technician and you could face a delay in receiving the new password.
