West, Arkansas International Mountain Bicycling Association
Representative and Ozark Off Road Cyclists Treasurer, lives in
Fayetteville, Arkansas. Don is married to Alison West and has two
faithful trail dogs, Masi and Gunner. Megan West will be the
newest addition to the family in May 2007. Don is self-employed as an author and trail builder for Butterfield Publishing, LLC. He has built trails all over Arkansas as a volunteer and/or professionally for the last 10 years. The most recent trail project was the Slaughter Pen Hollow mountain bike trail in Bentonville, Arkansas. He also designs septic systems for commercial and residential homes, conducts soil analysis and septic system inspections, and provides wetland determinations.
Don spends much of his free time on the mountain bike and road bike exploring Arkansas. Some of his favorite places to ride the mountain bike include the Syllamo Trail System, Buffalo Headwaters, Lake Leatherwood, The Womble, and the Ouachita Trail. You may even run into him on one of Arkansas's many hiking trails. However, if it has rained recently he'll take the canoe or kayak out for trip on the Buffalo River, Mulberry River, and/or Kings River.
