THIS WEATHER STATION IS LOCATED IN THE BACK YARD OVER 150 FEET FROM ANY STRUCTURE. THIS WAS DONE TO ELIMINATE ANY ARTIFICIAL READINGS CAUSED BY HEAT FROM HOMES AND WIND TUNNEL EFFECT BETWEEN STRUCTURES TO GIVE A TRUE TEMPERATURE AND WIND READING. THE ANEMOMETER IS MOUNTED SIX FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AND NOT ATOP ANY BUILDING OR STRUCTURE TO GIVE A MORE ACCURATE WIND SPEED SOMEONE WOULD EXPERIENCE ON THE GROUND.

EFFECTIVE 7/13/07 @ 7:30PM, THIS STATION WAS UPGRADED TO THE DAVIS VANTAGE PRO 2 SYSTEM. THIS NEW UNIT WILL AFFORD MORE ACCURATE DATA AS OPPOSED TO THE OLD VANTAGE PRO SYSTEM.
