The Trophy was first presented at the AFL-NFL World Championship Game on 15th of JAN, 1967 originally as the World Championship Game Trophy, it was renamed in 1971 in honor of Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi. Vince Lombardi died in 1970, he was the former coach of Washington and has won the Super Bowl twice.

The Trophy is made of sterling silver, it's designed by Tiffany & Co. of NY.
The Lombardi Trophy is 21 inches high and weighs 7 lbs. The football on the top is regulation size!.
The Trophy's are priced at just over $12000.00, and each year a new trophy is made and presented to the winning team of the Super Bowl.
