Open Houses of Faith Event

Sunday, March 8, from 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Trinity Presbyterian Church, Herndon, VA
Start off Girl Scout Week by exploring different faiths during an afternoon event on Girl Scout Sunday.
Girls will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of some of the faiths represented in our community through food, crafts and fun! Our area is made up of people belonging to many faiths, but we often don't know much about what those other faiths are and how they are different or similar to our own. During this Open House, girls will get a basic introduction to several religions and the role faith plays in Girl Scouting by creating festive light displays, making jewelry and donning costumes while participating in an interactive reading.
Cost is $5 per girl; girls who participate in this event will fulfill requirements for the Open Houses of Faith patch program and will receive their patches at the event.
During Girl Scout Week 2009, March 8-14, girls are encouraged to wear their uniforms to their respective worship services.
For more information contact Mankaa Ngwa-Suh, program specialist at
mngwasuh@gscnc.org or 202-237-1670 ext. 310.
