May day or Walpurgisnacht is celebrated on May Eve and May 1. We celebrate the union of the Goddess and the God. This night is perfect for fertility festivals. This is the "Death" of Winter and the "Birth" of Spring. It also marks the start of the Planting season. Traditional Pagan foods are red fruits like cherries or strawberries, large, round oatmeal or barley cakes known as Beltane cakes & Herbal salads. The traditional drink is red or pink wine punch.
