Players highlighted in yellow are no longer on the team or their contract has expired.

RB - roster bonus
$B or SB - signing bonus; PRSB or PR$B - Pro-Rated Signing Bonus
LTBE - Likely To Be Earned (easily attainable bonus e.g., roster bonus, reporting bonus, workout bonus, etc. see NFLPA for list of various bonuses)

Brett Favre - In 1997, he signed a 7-year extension (until 2003) for $47.25 million that included a $12 million signing bonus.  Prior to the start of the 2000 season, Favre agreed to convert $4.9 million of his 2000 base salary into a signing bonus, thus reducing his actual base salary to $450,000 for 2000. For salary cap purposes, the $4.9 million is prorated over the final four years of his contract (2000-03). It dropped Favre's salary cap figure for 2000, which includes a prorated portion of his original $12 million signing bonus, from $7.06 million to $3.39 million.  On 3 March 2001, Favre signed a NEW 10-year contract extension that totaled $101.5 million to include a $11 million signing bonus.

Darren Sharper - On 21 Feb 2001, signed a six-year, $30 million contract. It contained a $7 million signing bonus.

Sept. 9, 2003: Sitting just $30,000 below the $75.007 million salary cap late last week, the Green Bay Packers made a couple of moves to create about $1.5 million of room for 2003.  Guaranteed $2 million of safety Darren Sharper's $3.1 million base salary, thus turning the money into a signing bonus for accounting purposes. The $2 million will be prorated over the four years left on Sharper's contract (including 2003) and reduced Sharper's personal 2003 cap number of $4.567 million to $3.067 million.

Ryan Longwell - On 20 Feb 2001 signed a 5-year  $7.5 million contract that included a $2 million signing bonus.

Ahman Green - five-year $18.343 million deal included a signing bonus of $5 million.

Robert Ferguson - Four years, $2,867,500, average of $716,875, 2001 salary cap number of $613,750. Signing bonus: $1.355 million ($338,750/yr). Base salaries of $275,000 in '01, $343,750 in '02, $412,500 in '03 and $481,250 in '04.

William Henderson - (February 2002) signs four year contract.  Deal includes $1.15 million signing bonus; base salaries according to NFLPA.org on 3/12/2002:

Mike Wahle - (resigned March 2002) - six year deal (on paper) that includes a $2.25 million signing bonus. In reality it's a three year deal.

Mark Tauscher - (Nov. 27, 2002) signed a six-year contract extension (through 2008) that will pay him $16.5 million, including a $1.5 million signing bonus.

Donald Driver - (Nov. 27, 2002) signed a five-year, $11.513 million contract extension (through 2007) that included a $4 million signing bonus.  He also has incentive clauses which could earn him up to $300,000 more in each of the last five years of the deal, based on his number of receptions.

Javon Walker - six-year, $7.485 million contract. The deal, allows the wide receiver out of Florida State to void the final year and become an unrestricted free agent after five seasons. Walker will receive a $3 million signing bonus as well as a guaranteed $1.3 million option bonus due March 2003.  Average of $1.248 million, salary cap number of $1.045 million in 2002.  There are escalator clauses that will allow him to earn an additional $2 million if his career takes off in later years.  The Packers have an option for 2007 because they paid the 2003 'option bonus' but Walker can void the final year of the contract and become an unrestricted free agent by meeting very modest playing-time objectives. The sixth year was added primarily to provide the Packers with salary-cap assistance. In essence, the deal is worth $6.7 million over five years because the final year very likely will be voided. [note: As of 8 Feb 2006, the NFLPA did not list Walker under contract for 2007]

Cletidus Hunt - March 2003 signed a six-year deal worth $25.35 million, that included a $6 million signing bonus.

Nick Luchey - March 2003 signed a six-year $6+ million deal that included a $1.1 million signing bonus.

Hannibal Navies - March 2003 signed a three-year deal that included a $500,000 signing bonus.  The 3rd year is voidable (incentives have been reached to void 2005).

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila - KGB signs 7-year contract April 2003; the $37.3 million deal included an $11 million signing bonus ($1,571,428 * 7) which is not deferred and was payable upon his signing of the contract Wednesday (2 April 2003).  In truth, the deal is for three years and a total of $15 million, certainly in line with what a proven pass rusher earns these days. After the first three years, the contract probably will be restructured, since its value escalates to an average of $5.57 million after that. As for the $13.25 million in guaranteed money, well, that claim by agent Bruce Tollner, who has learned well from mentor Leigh Steinberg how to make numbers do whatever you want them to do, will pass most truth-in-advertising scrutiny. Grady Jackson - The two-year contract extension signed by Jackson (in December 2003) is worth $2.31 million and includes a signing bonus of $800,000, according to a source with access to NFL salary information.  Jackson will earn base salaries of $660,000 in 2004 and $750,000 in '05. His salary cap number will be $926,666 in 2004 and $1.116 million in '05.  Of the $800,000 signing bonus, $200,000 is contingent on Jackson meeting a prescribed weight (345 pounds). There are four weigh-ins in which Jackson must meet descending weight goals, each worth $50,000. The weights are 345, 340, 335 and 330 pounds. Jackson can earn $100,000 not tied to the signing bonus if he weighs 335 pounds or less at the start of training camp. He can also earn about $2 million in various statistical and playing-time incentives.  [note: actual $B is $600k prorated over three years (2003-2005) because contract was signed in December 2003]

Na'il Diggs - deal adds up to $10.4M, including a $2.8M signing bonus ($700k*4).  On Aug. 19 2003, the Packers guaranteed $850,000 ($212,500*4) of linebacker Na'il Diggs' $1.3 million base salary for the 2003 season. That created $637,500 of salary cap room for 2003.

Nick Barnett - (Press excerpt from July 24, 2003 -- sorry, no link) The seven-year deal first-round draft choice Nick Barnett signed is worth $7.75 million, including a $3.21 million signing bonus ($458,571*7 PRSB), according to a source with NFL salary information. Because Barnett can easily void the final two years by meeting simple playing time requirements, the deal is considered to be worth $6 million over five years. There is an escalator clause that adds another $1.259 million to the final year of the deal if Barnett plays in 68% of the snaps in any three of the first four years.

7:05 PM 2/7/2006 - It's possible $917,142 (2008 + 2009 PR$B) will accelerate into 2006 cap year due to 2008 & 2009 being voidable seasons by Barnett. However, it probably depends whether he exercises an escalator clause that adds another $1.259 million to the final year (2009). He hasn't voided them yet (5:42 PM 2/8/2006) because the NFLPA still lists his final season as 2009 ($920k base).

Aaron Rogers - (2005) signed a reported five-year, $7.7 million, deal.  The contract included a signing bonus of $1.5 million. He has a $3.01 million option bonus due about March 10 that the team must decide whether to exercise. If the Packers don't, Rodgers would remain their property but his base salaries from 2006-'08 would become guaranteed against both skill and injury and increase by $753,000 in '06, by $770,000 in '07 and by $808,000 in '08.

Ahmad Carroll - (2004) signed a six-year contract that voids to five seasons if he reaches minimum playing time levels.  The contract included $3.95 million in bonus money -- a $2.1 million signing bonus (350,000*6 PRSB), which he receives immediately, plus a $1.85 million option bonus due in March of 2003 (370,000*5 PRSB).  There was a $300,000 roster bonus in 2004. Carroll can earn an additional $3 million from contract escalator clauses

NFLPA base salary amounts (first number) are 'as of 6:33 PM 2/8/2006':

Al Harris - (2004) signed a six-year deal worth $18.635 million. He received a $5.25 million signing bonus.

NFLPA base salary (first number) as of 6:49 PM 2/8/2006:

Chad Clifton - (2004) signed a six-year, $32.35 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus (prorated 2004-09) and a $1 million roster bonus for 2004.  Additional roster bonuses are: $750,000 in '05; $1 million in '06; $1 million in '07; $2 million in '08; $2 million in '09.

NFLPA base salary (first number) as of 6:49 PM 2/8/2006:

Bubba Franks - (2005) PackersNews indicates $5,500,000 was paid in bonuses for 2005 but his cap figure was $2,050,000. $5.5m/5=$1.1m PRSB. However, there is a +$400k difference from his 2005 cap figure. My WAG is $800k of PRSB from 2007-09 was accelerated equally into 2005 and 2006. The PRSB for 2007-09 would then be $833,333 respectively.

NFLPA base salaries (first number) as of 7:23 PM 2/8/2006:

Nick Collins - (2005) signed a five-year deal worth $3.76 million, including a $600,000 signing bonus ($120,000/yr*5) and a $1.01 million option bonus payable in 2006, according to a source with access to NFL Players Association salary information. He'll also received a $220,000 roster bonus in 2005.
