Of note, Sagarin counts games played against UC Riverside whereas RPI does not. Next year, UCR will be full division I members. Also note that there Sagarin's rating is unbiased which means that all of the teams connected. This also implies that the RPI is a lot more meaningful.

Currently, the Sagarin ratings are biased according to his preconceptions. Typically, Big West teams are rated very low and have to work their way up. In a few weeks, once all teams have connected, this initial bias will be dropped and the ranking will change substantially.
