Double was the Old Lady of our kennel.  She had a flowing side gate, but was not the 'typiest' of Aussies even though she was major pointed.  Double competed quite successfully in anything she tried.  Well, anything except 'ducks', those critters were far beneath her.  Double only worked Cattle twice in her life and those were the two days she got qualifying legs toward her STD-c.  She was also High In Trial Started Aussie for both of those days, as well as scoring High In Trial Cattle on the second day.  Double loved those cows!  She even had two legs toward her CD before I went on maternity leave.  I would have to call her one of those Aussies who was too smart for her own good.  She loved to work for you, but she always had a good time in the process.   I can remember practicing with a small flock of sheep, where she kept diving into the middle and cutting out the same ewe.  After the third occurrence of this I called her off and gave her a thorough chewing out.  "What the heck are you doing!"  "I want the flock of sheep!"  "I don't want that sheep!"  Double was driving me crazy!!!  I sent her back out for the flock one more time, and once again she dove in and cut out the same ewe.  This time however, she placed the single ewe up against the back fence.  Then she turned around and fetched the rest of the flock back to me, while she grinned so hard she was sneezing.  Needless to say, she won. ;-)   (Never tell an Aussie what you 'specifically' want them to do, unless you are prepared for them to show off from time to time.)   Double passed away in her sleep at the ripe old age of 14.  She will be greatly missed.
