The protected forces optimized version of the Rearden Medium-Duty Battledress. Used by army units requiring longer duration protection in hostile environments. Modifications include the installation of a permanent flight pod, which gives the suit a hunchback appearance, a removable equipment pod containing an NPU and full life-support system, and removal of one of the standard rechargeable power cells (which is used primarily to power the retained limited life-support unit, now used for emergencies.) The baddledress's look has earned it the name the Quasi, for the character of an obscure ancient text.
Standard BD is capable of being operated in most standard atmospheres and under Bio/Chem warfare conditions without modification. Environmental controls allow use of the battledress in a variety of extreme conditions while keeping the user comfortable. Liquid and solid refreshment systems are available. The suit includes a fairly capable waste management system, although its ability to process solid waste is severely limited.
BD contains a number of seals designed to segment the suit and maintain atmospheric integrity in the event of trauma. A biocomputer maintains a limited ability to respond to combat injuries. This system includes a number of drug delivery systems, including anti-fatigue stimulants, anti-shock, pain blocker and combat drug. The primary medical monitoring system is designed to transmit biomedical data to the unit's medical corpsman via one of the encrypted communication data channels. Battledress also have the capability of limited biomed scanner reception and information processing. Any standard battledress can monitor another battledress unit via short range encrypted data exchange in an emergency.

A standard set of Rearden Battledress (Type 62-C) costs the Imperium (and those local governments that are permitted to buy them) KCr53. With its NPU power unit, flight pack and full life support the Quasi version of the Rearden is almost twice as expensive. This includes the cost of extra ruggedization of all electronic and sensor systems required by the extremely hazardous environments that the 62-CS is designed to operate in.
