Not a common weapon for most modern soldiers, the tomahawk has become most widely favored amoung profor troops. It can be deadly when used against lightly protected individuals in spacesuits, can act as a tool for forcing partition doors in spacecraft and can be thrown with great accuracy, even in a zero-g environment.

The tomahawk used by the Homeguard is made of hardened steel. Is is plated with a copper colored alloy cladding for protection and decoration. The handle is made of gunsteel dipped in a vacuum resistant nonslip coating.

The weapon is perfactly balanced for throwing. Both the edge and point are maintained sharp.

Tomahawks have obvious advantages in combat when any damge to an opponent's suit is likely to result in death. It can be used to block or trap other weapons when engaed in hand to hand combat, and is even effective against an opponent armed with a projectile weapon if close enough.

The handle can be used like a baton to trap an opponents arms legs or torso. A metal handled tomahawk like the one employed by the Guards can even be used to block a knife or sword blade without damage.
