The model of Battledress used exclusively by Silvan's Troopers is the Vishhii Medium Duty Battlesuit model 60-CS, the space combat optimized variant of the 60-C.
Standard BD is capable of being operated in most standard atmospheres and under Bio/Chem warfare conditions without modification. The integrated rebreather can extend the duration of the internal tankage to the 24 hour range. Operations in excess of this time require the full lifesupport system be in operation. Environmental controls allow use of the battledress in a variety of extreme conditions while keeping the user comfortable. Liquid and solid refreshment systems are available. The suit includes a fairly capable waste management system, although its ability to process solid waste is severely limited.
BD contains a number of seals designed to segment the suit and maintain atmospheric integrity in the event of trauma. A biocomputer maintains a limited ability to respond to combat injuries. This system includes a number of drug delivery systems, including anti-fatigue stimulants, anti-shock, pain blocker and combat drug. The primary medical monitoring system is designed to transmit biomedical data to the unit's medical corpsman via one of the encrypted communication data channels. Battledress also have the capability of limited biomed scanner reception and information processing. Any standard battledress can monitor another battledress unit via short range encrypted data exchange in an emergency.
Standard BD is powered by a Nuclear Power Unit capable of providing 55 kW of continuous power. An integrated E cell battery system can provide emergency power if the RTG is damaged. Weapons are powered separately via a separate rechargeable power cell, which can be replenished by excess power form the RTG between uses.
In many ways the 60-C is comparable to Marine Battledress. The Redding has better armor, but the Vishhii has greater airspeed. Its general endurance is greater, thanks to it's pod RTG power unit and the full life support.
Perhaps the most important aspects of the suit to its users are the ways it is inferior to the Redding. The Marine assault armor has better electronics. The Vishhii has AESA sensors which are inferior to the Redding. Its contragrav unit has 1/3 the capacity of the Redding's, limiting the troopers load. The battledress's computer system has half the complexity of the Redding's.
Cost is another issue. The Vishhii is almost twice the cost of the Redding, which makes it very expensive indeed. This is due to several factors. Economy of scale is one. The Imperial government buys millions of Redding Battledress units. Only several thousand Vishhii units were produced, and then only to order. Imperial Licenses for purchase of the Vishhii are very limited, given to only a handful of Megacorp security branches and merc companies, typically Protected Forces or Deep Space Infantry with special government contacts.
