The Advanced Combat Assault Weapon was developed for use by profor troops. It combines leading edge TL12 materials, gauss and ordinance technology in a package optimized for use in freefall, vacuum and hostile environments. The Advanced Combat Assault Weapon provides an enhanced capability for the profor infantryman, with the potential to selectively replace the gauss rifle, gauss grenade launcher, and accelerator rifle. The weapon includes a laser range finder which can also be used at a laser designator for artillery. The weapon also features a round counter, loaded round indicator, is gyrostablized and includes a HUD interface connection and the standard bayonet lug. The ACAW is commonly used by infantry in Army Combat Armor (ACA) or Combat Environmental Suit (CES).

The ACAW is a modular, three-barrel weapon which turns the profor soldiers into devastating, precision-firing platforms. It combines a 20 mm gauss rifle, 4 mm gauss SMG and an accelerator rifle. | |
A single trigger is linked to all three barrels. The weapon possessed three individual magazines each of which has an integrated power cell. Both the 4 mm and 20 mm units have variable velocity controls which allow the use of various types of ammunition as well as allowing needles to be fired subsonically. The 4 mm unit can be fired in single shot, 3 shot auto or full auto. The 20 mm gauss gun is a single shot weapon. The Acc gun can be fired in full auto or single shot (and of course, has no recoil, making it the perfect weapon in free fall.) Controls can be operated from either side of the trigger. The stock and grips are symmetrical. Trigger and controls are oversized to allow easy use by gloved hands.

The Laser Aiming Module attaches on the front rail of the 4 mm gauss assembly. The laser module combines a visible light (110 yards, 25 yards effective), IR-light (50 yards), visible laser (50 yards in daylight, up to 750 yards in low-light) and IR-laser (200 yards). It is powered by a single rB cell. The module is detachable and can be used independently of the weapon if necessary.
| The ACAW is a modular weapon system. The folding stock is used on the 4mm gauss rifle when the combined weapon is used. It can also be used on the 20 mm gauss cannon in both 20mm and shotgun mode. The acc gun cannot be used alone but must be mounted on the combined weapon. | ![]() |
The weapon's gauss assemblies are fully power selectable. The 4mm gauss gun can be fired subsonically, allowing use of tracer or tranq needles. The 20mm cannon can be adjusted to fire both 20mm ammunition and standard gauss shotgun shells. This is a equivalent to a Gauss CAW weapon, holding 10 rounds.
The ACAW can fire a large assortment of different ammunition. All Acc and 20 mm ammunition can be laser guided, or set for proximity, air burst or contact detonation. All types of standard 4mm gauss ammunition, which is readily available, can be used by the ACAW. The receiver for the cannon unit can also accept standard 18.5 mm shotgun ammunition. Shotgun and 20mm ammunition cannot be used in the same load.
