DAN Lead
Singer, Keys, Sax, Songwriter I've been singing
since age 7, and playing instruments since 9. I've been gigging
since age 10. Now I'm 40 and am just getting the knack of it.
I've performed for drunks and presidents, from pizza hut to Carnegie
Hall. Right now with category 5 I am right where I want to be.
I've played woodwinds, guitar, and keys at one time or another, but now
I like to concentrate on singing. |

JOHN
Lead Guitar, Background Vocals
When I heard Good Time Bad Times off Led Zeppelin I
for the first time I was hooked. I started playing in earnest in
1972 through countless bands, guitars and amps. (jump ahead 30 years)
I found myself with category 5. I play a PRS Custom through a
Marshall 30th Anniversary amp. My greatest influence is Jimmy
Page. Playing with Category 5 is my way of relaxing and I love it. |

TUMBLEWEED
Drums (lots of them) & Percussion
I started beating on pots and pans at 8 years old,
got my first drum kit at 10, and have been playing ever since. My
main influences are John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, and Ritchie Hayward.
I have been a member of Category 5 since May of 2001. I currently
play a custom made set of drums by Maryland Drum. I have a pretty
heavy pocket style of playing, and really enjoy the kick-ass style of
this band. I am having a blast making music with the most talented
bunch of guys I have ever played with. |

JACK
Bass Guitar, Background
Vocals
Jack has
been one of Hampton’s premier sound engineers for over 10 years. He
has also been a gigging bass player in many local rock and blues bands.
With over 35 years of playing experience he plans to add a new dimension
to the band |

DAVE
Guitar, Keys, Background Voc
I started playing in local bands at 15 years old
and kept that up for about 8 years. I moved to VA, got married,
and was content for a long time with my music room and some studio
work. In the early 90's I got the bug to be part of a band
again and started a band made up of people I had met in the studio. Around 1998 or so I started playing with the guys that
became Category 5. This band has without a doubt been the best
I've ever had the honor to be part of. Now that my wife, Bobbi, is
singing some songs with us life is good.
|
 |
BOBBI
lead vocals, backup vocals
It all started with "Bring Me To Life". Bobbi
agreed to sing it and we put the song together and the response was
great. Then "My Immortal", "Heartbreaker", "I Can't Tell You Why",
and "I'm The Only One" was added. All get great responses.
Bobbi is also a natural at singing background harmonies. She also
has sang barbershop style music in national competition with the "Publik
Times" Chorus.

Very Important People |
 |
Chad
Chad has helped us out very much over the years. He ran our
lights, helped with setup and teardown, and has sang backup on many
songs. He saved our butts by suddenly switching from
"light guy" to "lead singer" for one gig. Dan lost his voice just
before the show. Chad stepped up and saved the day for us.
He did a great job. Chad
is now playing drums in "Blind Witness". They are a classic rock
band based in Virginia Beach. |
 |
Stephanie
Stephanie has stepped up once again and is
now running lights for us full time. She has helped us over the years
including when we were having sound man problems. She ran sound
for us for about a year. She still has responsibility of keeping
Dan in line also. |

Kenn
Kenn is one of the founding members of Category 5 and was part of the
band from the beginning to October of 2005. His last gig with us
was Bay Days 2005. He is currently getting a new band up and
running as well as touring with "Alex Nachman". Alex tours the
East Coast and has good prospects of becoming a national act. |
 |
Neil
Neil played drums for us prior to Tumbleweed. He gigged with us
about a year. He's a solid drummer and is currently playing with
Lead 86 .
Check them out and click above to see
their web site. That's where I found this picture of Neil. . |

Rob
Rob ran our lights for a couple of years. I don't know much
about Rob other than he did a great job for us.
