We were able to get out to the islands a couple of days. We caught quite a few nice Goldspotted Bass on a submerged rockpile. On the way back to camp, we trolled south toward Punta Cabeza de Pato and the Halibut spot (which again had no halibut). This is a picture of the south grotto on Islote La Poma as we putted south.

I took this photo of the San Luis lighthouse as we trolled by. Not much left. Cathy couldn't believe it. That's what a couple hurricanes and twelve years will do. Contrast it with this picture of it taken back in 1993.

We decided to land on Isla San Luis and check it out, as Ramona had never been on the islands.

Cathy and Ramona walked across the pumice toward the plug.

This is one of the only times of the year you can really land on the islands without creating a major disturbance. The Brown Pelicans were just staking out their territories, but had no eggs or young yet.

This Osprey hovered over its nest atop the plug in the Ensenada Plaza de Toros crater.

I hiked up the hill a bit and shot this photo looking northeast.
