After a hard day's fishin', Pandro commenced filleting.

I did likewise.

After the fish were cleaned, we relaxed in the shade and had some guacamole.

Wednesday was also a calm day, so back to the islands we went. Bruce and Chris found the Sierra holding just east of Punta Piedra Volcanica. Chrisco flopped one into the boat.

I caught several too. Here's why you use steel leaders on them. Toothy little buggers.

I snapped a shot of Islote La Poma.

I gestured about the one that got away.

Pandro showed off the catch of the day.

As I made way south towards Punta Cabeza de Pato at the south end of Isla San Luis, I paused to photograph the volcanic maar, Ensenada Plaza de Toros.

After rounding Punta Cabeza de Pato, I put on some Zuker's feathers and started trolling at about 7 - 8 m.p.h. Chrisco and Bruce had reported seeing some Dorado south of Punta Bufeo the day before. I headed southwest and had some "things" chase my lure. Unfortunately, the wind was picking up and I didn't want to stay so far offshore. The fast troll action was only out off the south end of the point. Once I got a half mile in from there, the strikes ceased. I trolled all the way to Pompano Cove, but got no more hits. I threw on a fastrac and trolled back and forth where I used to regularly pick up large Corvina. Nothing. I can't even remember the last time I got fish south of Punta Bufeo. The gillnetters have really done it in.
